The Back 9 Endurance Run is an endurance running event held at Keweenaw Mountain Lodge in Copper Harbor, MI (14252 US Hwy 41). The course is a 3.68 mile loop that uses wooded trails, the Back 9 Trails, and paths across the lodge's historic wilderness golf course. Runners pass periodic views of Brockway Mountain and Lake Superior. The course lies inside the Keweenaw Dark Sky Park.

Format, rules and logistics

Teams must have only one runner on course at a time. A team must start a new lap every hour or it will be considered dropped. Solo runners must start a new loop at least every two hours. Pacers are allowed for 24-hour participants and may begin pacing at dark. Support crews are permitted at the gazebo.

Runners must record their own lap times on the timing board; no partial laps are counted and final results use the last completed lap. Littering is prohibited. Race staff may remove runners for safety reasons. Participants are responsible for personal shelter, food, hydration, and outdoor survival; organizers provide a warm-up shack and some food/snacks/hydration. Required gear includes a headlamp with extra batteries, rain gear, extra socks, a warm outer layer, hats, and gloves.
