Event Details

The Back 9 Endurance Run is a 12-hour or 24-hour timed running event. It takes place on a single 3.68-mile loop course at the historic Keweenaw Mountain Lodge in Copper Harbor, Michigan. Participants can register as a solo runner or as part of a team of 2 or 4 people.

Course & Setting

The loop winds through wooded trails, including the Back 9 Trails, and paths across the lodge's wilderness golf course. Views of Brockway Mountain and Lake Superior can be seen from the course. Rules & Logistics

  • For teams, only one member may run on the course at a time. A new lap must be started every hour.
  • Solo runners must begin a new loop every 2 hours.
  • Participants are responsible for their own supplies, including food, hydration, tents, and clothing. Required gear includes a headlamp with extra batteries, rain gear, warm layers, and hats/gloves.
  • Race officials can cancel the event due to extreme weather or evaluate a runner's fitness to continue.
  • No partial laps are counted towards the final distance.
