Event Overview
Awake the Grapes is a vineyard run featuring a 5k and a 10k distance. The 2026 event is its 15th annual edition. The event is held at Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Course Details
The courses use paved, gravel, and cross-country terrain.
- The 5k course winds around the Carlos Creek Winery property and through the onsite vineyards.
- The 10k course runs through the winery vineyards, onto County Road 34, along the east side of Lake Ida, east on County Road 61 to County Road 34, and back to the winery.
Post-Race & Awards
After the races, an award ceremony is held outside the winery's tasting room. Medals are presented to the top finisher in each age range for male and female runners in both distances. Overall top male and female awards are also presented for the 5k and 10k.
Registration & Amenities
Registrations completed before midnight on May 3rd include an event t-shirt. Registrations made after that date receive a drink ticket. A donation-only registration option is available for those who do not wish to run but would like to support the cause and receive a t-shirt.
