About the race
Coldwater Rumble Trail Runs take place January 16–17, 2027 at Estrella Mountain Regional Park in Goodyear, Arizona. The event offers multiple trail distances run on desert terrain at the foothills of the Sierra Estrella mountain range.
Distances
- 100 Mile (course uses two 10-mile red loops and three 27-mile blue loops)
- 100K (one red loop plus two blue loops)
- 50K
- 20 Mile
- 10 Mile
- 5 Mile
Courses travel a mix of crushed granite single track, rocky sections, boulder fields, sandy washes, old jeep roads, and dry wash beds. The 100 Mile course lists total elevation gain of 8,687 feet with a maximum elevation near 1,449 feet; the 100K lists about 5,490 feet of gain. A sandy section called Corgett Wash can be 1.5–2 miles and may be very sandy depending on recent weather; gaiters are recommended for sand.
Aid stations are described as well stocked and the event uses chip timing with live split points for tracking. Crews may work near the start/finish and at Horse Thief Aid under specific rules; pacers are allowed for the 100 Mile and 100K with mileage conditions. Drop bags are permitted at the race headquarters and remote drop bags are allowed for the longest distances. The event follows a cupless policy at aid stations and offers camping at the Competitive Track staging area for the weekend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
