Course and logistics
Courses run on desert trails in the foothills of the Sierra Estrella range and include crushed granite single track, rocks, boulders, sandy washes, old jeep roads, and dry wash beds. The 100 Mile layout uses two 10-mile red loops followed by three 27-mile blue loops, with runners returning to the start/finish multiple times. Total elevation gain for the 100 Mile course is listed at 7,900 feet and maximum elevation near 1,415 feet.
Aid stations are described as well stocked; the event is cupless, with reusable cups available at registration. Drop bags are allowed at the race headquarters for all distances and at Coldwater Ranch Aid for the 100M, 100K, 60K and 40K. Crews are welcome near the start/finish and at one on-course aid location with restrictions on structures; pacers are permitted for portions of the 100M and 100K.
