Coldwater Rumble Trail Runs
Coldwater Rumble is a trail running event at Estrella Mountain Regional Park in Goodyear, AZ on Saturday, January 16, 2027. The event offers multiple distances, including:
- 100 miles
- 100 kilometers
- 50 kilometers
- 20 miles
- 10 miles
- 5 miles
The 100 mile format uses two 10 mile red loops followed by three 27 mile blue loops, with runners passing the start/finish area four times. Courses run through the foothills of the Sierra Estrella mountains on varied desert surfaces: crushed granite single track, rocks, boulders, sandy washes, old jeep roads, and dry wash beds. A 1.5 to 2 mile Corgett Wash section can be very sandy in some years.
Support features include well stocked aid stations, remote timing points for live tracking, drop bag options at the Rumble headquarters and at Horse Thief Aid for longer distances, and post race food. The event continues a cupless policy at aid stations, with reusable cups available at registration.
Crew and pacer rules vary by distance: crews are allowed at the start/finish and at Horse Thief Aid with no structures or camping; pacers are permitted for the 100 mile and 100 kilometer distances after specified miles. Camping and RV sites are available near the start/finish and a park entry fee applies per vehicle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
