Friendsgiving 5k, 10k, 15k and Half Marathon : Whittier Narrows
Friendsgiving takes place at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, California on November 15, 2026. The event uses the park trail and the course is an open route shared with pedestrians, runners, and cyclists; the route will be marked.
The event offers multiple looped out-and-back options:
- 5k out and back route
- 10k two 5k loops
- 15k three 5k loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile out and back loops
An aid station is located at the turnaround near the start/finish and supplies water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels.
Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free photos and videos, live results at finish, trophies and achievement badges, and access to the organizer’s app for race tracking. Snacks and samples are available on site.
Race day registration accepts credit card, cash, Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal with day-of prices listed for each distance. Parking at Whittier Narrows Area D parking lot is $10 per vehicle with a discounted $8 rate for participants aged 65 and over and for disabled parking. Transfers are handled by the organizer and there is a no refund policy. A 3 hour 15 minute time limit applies to the half marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
