7 Sisters Trail Race

Amherst, United States • 2 May 2026

Event details

The Seven Sisters Trail Race is scheduled for May 2, 2026. The course is an out-and-back on the M-M Trail along the ridgecrest of the Holyoke Range in Amherst, MA. The distance is 12 miles with over 3,500 ft of elevation gain. The route is technical singletrack with steep hills, sharp rocks, roots and occasional ledges that require jumping; walking on sections is expected. Two manned water stations will refill runners, but participants are required to carry their own hydration. The event is cupless, so runners must provide their own cup or water bottle at aid locations. The race is held rain, snow, or shine.

Entry, timing and support

The field is capped at 500 runners. A waitlist is used; when a spot opens the first person on the waitlist will be placed in the race and charged. Registrations are not transferable or deferrable; runners who withdraw prior to April 17 may be eligible for a $40 refund if a waitlist exists. Start waves are assigned based on anticipated finish time; participants may start in a later wave but not an earlier one. Time cutoffs require runners to reach the turnaround within 2.5 hours and a specified inbound point within 3 hours or be removed from the course. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall in each gender category (M/F/NB) and to the first finisher in each age group: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Volunteers staff water stations, registration, the halfway turnaround and the finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
