This is a short fell race on the Penmaenmawr area, listed as part of the North Wales Mid Week Series and the North Wales Series. The course distance is 4.7 km / 2.9 mi with a total climb of 489 m / 1604 ft.

The event starts from Graiglwyd Farm, LL34 6EP, grid reference GR 719757. Competitors must park in the car park behind Spar; driving to the race start is not permitted and only race officials and marshals may use the limited areas nearer the route.

The race is classified AS with experience required. The route is partially marked and local knowledge is beneficial. It goes into significant fell and mountain terrain rising to around 600 m. Much of the course is on rough tracks or off track with difficult underfoot sections such as bogs, tussocks and boulders. There is occasional moderate exposure and moderate terrain risk. Basic navigation skills and basic off trail mountain experience are useful. Some escape routes exist but retiring or an injured runner may face difficulty in parts. Weather can change suddenly and conditions may be challenging.

There are no buildings or toilet facilities at the venue. Competitors are advised to use facilities such as Orme View garage on the A55 beforehand. Minimum age for the main race is over 15.
