About the race
XTERRA Wellington Festival is an offroad event held on 27 February 2027 at Queen Elizabeth Park, Wellington, New Zealand. The event comprises mountain bike races, trail runs, a duathlon and a trail marathon, staged on coastal dunes, farm tracks, forest single track and hill terrain around the park.
Distances and formats include:
- 6 km run/walk along the dunes of Queen Elizabeth Park
- 14 km run/walk via Whareroa Beach, farm trails and downhill single track
- 21 km half-marathon trail run starting and ending at Queen Elizabeth Park beaches
- 42.2 km Trail Marathon through New Zealand bush, single track and sand hills
- 14 km MTB one lap of the long course
- 31 km MTB two laps, e-bike riders in a separate category
- Duathlon with technical off-road bike and run sections, e-bike riders in a separate category
Registration opens 25 August 2026. The event lists tiered entry fees that change by date for each distance, with separate youth pricing and processing fees applied.
