About the race
XTERRA Wellington Festival is an offroad event held in Queen Elizabeth Park, Wellington on 27 February 2027. The program combines trail running, mountain biking and a duathlon across coastal dunes, forest single track and hilly terrain around Whareroa and Queen Elizabeth Park. Race options include short and long trail runs, a full trail marathon, mountain bike laps and an offroad duathlon. MTB events allow e-bikes, which race in their own category.
Courses feature sand hill running, single track sections, farm and gum forest trails, and a notable downhill section on the mountain bike route. Available distances and formats: - 6 km trail run around the dunes of Queen Elizabeth Park. - 14 km trail run through Whareroa Farm and coastal trails. - 21.1 km half marathon trail run starting and ending by the beaches. - 42.2 km trail marathon with varied bush, single track and sand sections. - 14 km mountain bike one lap. - 31 km mountain bike two laps. - Offroad duathlon with bike and run stages. Registration is open with tiered pricing that increases closer to the event; registration closes on 27 February 2027.
