About the race
The Wayland / HFC Striders XC Festival is a cross-country competition through fields and wooded trails that benefits the Wayland Cross Country teams. The event is held in Wayland, MA at 264 Old Connecticut Path.
The event program includes the following distances:
- 3 km youth races (three races)
- 5 km open races (two races)
The festival features many age classes and team competitions with awards. Spectators can see competitors during many parts of the course, making the event suitable for viewing as well as competition.
Last year the open races offered more than $4,000 in prizes for individuals, teams and a free raffle, supported by sponsors. The open 5K has been selected as part of the USATF-NE XC Grand Prix for 2026.
