Viewpoint Endurance Challenge
The Viewpoint Endurance Challenge is a timed endurance event held October 17, 2026 in Whittier, NC. It offers multiple running and rucking divisions held on a 1.4 mile loop that combines a 1.0 mile hard packed gravel section with a 0.4 mile asphalt section.
Event options include:
- 24 hour timed event
- 12 hour timed event
- 6 hour timed event
- 6 hour ruck division
- 3 hour ruck division
- 3 hour timed event
The course records about 118 ft of climb and 100 ft of descent per loop and passes the main conference center each circuit, where bathrooms and showers are located. Aid station support and porta-johns are available on the loop. Lap keeping uses chip or tag timing, with an option for participants to self-record laps on a large white board.
Rucking divisions are available for men and women, with specified pack weights for each division. A 24 hour finisher award is given to participants who complete at least 37 laps, equivalent to roughly 50.4 miles. Canopy tents may be set up in permitted areas for crew access and self support. On-site lodging options include hotel rooms, bunk houses, an RV park, and tent camping. Timed format events credit participants with the distance completed during the time limit.
