Veterans Trail Festival
The Veterans Trail Festival takes place on 11 July 2026 at Raccoon Creek State Park in Hookstown, Pennsylvania. The event includes multiple race distances that begin and end at the Recreation Hall and use park trails and roads.
- 50K - primarily single-track with roots, rocks and elevation changes.
- 20 Mile - primarily single-track with rock, roots and one circuit around the park perimeter.
- 5K - paved or gravel, mostly level, out-and-back with one water station halfway.
- 1 Mile - out-and-back, paved or gravel, open to walkers and runners.
The 50K and 20 Mile courses include varied challenging terrain, five aid stations and ham radio tracking of participants. Packet pickup and post-race hospitality take place at the Recreation Hall. Race day activities include a presentation of Colors, performance of the National Anthem and stories from local veterans.
The event is organized by a veteran community care organization that uses outdoor activity to support veterans and military service members. Registration includes an option to start a fundraiser for the organization. A custom race bib with a participant name is available for those who register before Sunday, October 25.
