Two Rose Ultra

The Two Rose Ultra is an ultramarathon offering a choice of two 50 km loops or a full 100 km route. The event is split between Lancashire (the Red Rose) and Yorkshire (the White Rose) and is based at Wadsworth Community Centre in Old Town above Hebden Bridge.

The Red Rose route passes through Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall, briefly joins the Calderdale Way and follows the Pennine Way to Widdop Reservoir. Runners continue into Lancashire via Worsthorne and Townley Park in Burnley, then climb toward Cliviger and two trig points on the moorland, drop into Walsden before climbing to Gaddings Dam and reaching Stoodley Pike, finishing back in Old Town.

The White Rose route runs out over Walshaw Moor toward Haworth, includes a road section into Keighley via Lund Park, then rejoins trails near Bingley golf club, Cottingley Woods and the waterfalls at Hallas Bridge. It visits Doe Park reservoir and Ogden Water before reaching Leadbeater Dam, which is the final checkpoint and the only cut off for the 100 km option. The 100 km route uses the race HQ as the mid-way checkpoint.

There are no formal cut offs on the 50 km loops. The mid-way facility offers hot food and drop-bag access, and runners beginning the second loop must carry a headtorch. Support includes well-stocked, vegan-friendly checkpoints, GPS tracking and timing, bespoke finisher medals and free event photography.
