Triple D Winter Race
The Triple D Winter Race is a winter endurance event across Dubuque County held on January 16, 2027. The event marks its twentieth anniversary and is organized and staffed entirely by volunteers from the Tri-State Mountain Bike Riders (TMBR) of Dubuque, Iowa.
The route links Dubuque, Durango, and Dyersville along the Heritage Trail and other local trails. Participants may ride, run, or skate; riders often use a 52-mile round trip between Heritage Pond and the Dyersville trailhead. That section is described as remote and scenic with very little support, so participants are expected to be self-sufficient.
Registered entrants receive a SWAG bag with supplements and goodies, access to a raffle with a minimum prize value of $40, and optional event apparel including a T-shirt and neck gaiter. Podium finishers receive Woolie Boolie socks and other sponsor prizes. Entry fees help cover on-course food and beverages and support the TMBR club mission to build and sustain local trails.
The event uses two headquarters: the 7Hills Brewery Event Center for bike start and finish and the Durango Trailhead for run start and finish. After the competition there is a gathering at the 7Hills Event Center with warm food and beverages for participants and volunteers.
