Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile - Hendersonville, NC
The 12th Annual Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile presented by Aetna takes place in Hendersonville on October 24, 2026. The event is Halloween themed and is based in the Historic 7th Avenue District, with the start and finish in downtown Hendersonville near 519 Maple Street.
Distances offered:
- 5k run in-person and virtual
- 1 mile in-person un-timed
Packet pickup is provided on race day near the start/finish area close to Nelon's Feed; there is no pre-event day before packet pickup. Registered participants may receive a complementary event shirt if they register before the stated deadline, and the first 500 registrants receive a commemorative finisher medal. The event uses chip timing, offers complimentary race photos, a goody bag, and event prizes.
A costume contest is part of the event with categories such as overall best-dressed kids costume, best-dressed individual, best-dressed friends or family, best-dressed pet, most original costume, and a novelty category. Winners receive prizes and are announced at the awards ceremony.
The Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County is collecting new winter items at packet pickup. Requested items include socks, beanies, blankets, gloves, jackets sized 5T to adult 2XL, sneakers, toys, and sunscreen.
Registration policies include options to transfer to the virtual event, request a deferral, change race distance, and a prohibition on bib transfers between participants.
