Traprock 50
Traprock 50 takes place in Bloomfield, CT at Penwood State Park on April 17, 2027. The event offers looped trail races organized by the CT Trailmixers, a volunteer non profit trail running club.
Distances
- 50K (three loops; each loop about 10.5 to 11 miles)
- 17K (one loop; same loop distance)
The course is rolling and consists of roughly 50% technical single track on the Metacomet Trail, with the balance on double track and forest roads. Sections of single track can be extremely rocky. The official course will not be changed and includes the power line hill.
Organizers advise that entrants have sufficient trail running experience, for example a recent road or trail marathon. The 50K has a nine hour cutoff. The event is cupless; participants should plan to use their own cup or handheld bottle. A race shirt is available for separate purchase through the event store.
When the field reaches capacity a waitlist activates. Waitlist selections follow the order of registration; selected runners have two days to respond. Cancellation before March 1 yields a 50% refund; there are no refunds after that date and no bib transfers or deferrals. Race proceeds support local organizations including the Simsbury Land Trust and the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
