The event is a trail running event at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont, held in October. It offers both a full marathon and a half marathon on the lodge trail system and is set in the Green Mountains during fall foliage and local Oktoberfest activity.
The course is a 13.1 mile loop that is approximately two thirds double track and dirt roads and one third serpentine, rugged single track. The full marathon consists of two laps of this loop. The route features steep climbs and descents, a newly updated climb to the highest point on the Trapp Lodge property (Round Top Mountain), significant elevation gain and loss, and sections that require steep scrambling.
