Trails 4 Tails : Codorus State Park, Hanover PA
Trails 4 Tails is a trail race event organized by York Ridge Runners at Codorus State Park near Hanover, PA. The course mixes terrain including about a mile of pavement, open fields, winding singletrack, and when conditions allow a lakeshore stretch. Runners pass the Chestnut Orchard, the site of Rummel Farm, and the historic Mary Ann Furnace area. The start and finish area, aid station, and restrooms are located at Pavilion #1.
The event is chip timed. Well behaved leashed dogs are permitted on course. Drop bags can be left at Pavilion #1, crew support is allowed there, and pacers may join for the final two laps of the 40 mile race. All proceeds support Animal Rescue Inc. of New Freedom, PA.
A fully stocked aid station serves every distance with Tailwind, Coke, ginger ale, bacon, pierogies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and a mix of sweet and salty snacks. Camping is available at the state park. A race day picnic will provide cookout food for participants and supporters. Registration opens December 1, 2026; those registered by August 1 receive an official race shirt. - 40 Mile Ultra : 7 loops of 5.72 miles, ~4,200 ft elevation gain, chip timed.
- 40 Mile Relay : 7 loops of 5.72 miles, teams up to 7, 11 hour cutoff.
- 25K+ : 3 loops of 5.72 miles, ~1,800 ft gain, 7.5 hour cutoff.
- 10K : 1 loop ~6 miles, ~600 ft gain, 6 hour cutoff.
