About the race
The Redman 9 miles trail race runs around Lake Redman in York, PA on December 5, 2026. The route is mostly single track with a cumulative climb of about 1,200'+ and includes two tunnel crossings under Interstate 83; the tunnels often carry ankle-deep water and the second crossing is roughly 50 yards long and requires ducking for clearance.
There is one aid station a little before the halfway point stocked with water, Gatorade, performance candy and other quick-energy items. Cutoffs are 2 hours to the aid station (about 4 miles) and 4.5 hours to the finish. The course will remain open to the public during the event, so runners should be courteous to other trail users and avoid littering. Organizers request participants wear orange or other brightly colored clothing.
The event includes a Ruck division, which requires a minimum of 10 pounds of carried weight. Awards and finisher items will be presented to finishers; top three men and top three women receive premium awards. There is also an award for the best Ugly Christmas Sweater. If park trails are closed the race will convert to a virtual event with no refund; results, awards and finisher coins will still be handled by the organizers.
