Blazing Saddles

Blazing Saddles is a trail running event at Codorus State Park, Pavilion #3 near the bandshell in Hanover, PA, presented by the York Road Runners Club and the York Ridge Runners. The event uses the Ranger Trail, composed of singletrack, horse trails, and under one mile of road, with runnable hills, mud, and possible spring snow.

The course is a loop that is repeated for each race distance:

There is an aid station at mile 8 offering water, electrolyte drinks, and food. Top three men and top three women receive prizes. Participants who register by February 18 receive event swag. All event proceeds support a local animal rescue.

Race rules include visible bibs, no bib transfers, no littering, staying on the trail, turning in bibs if withdrawing, and no pacers, crews, deferrals, or refunds. The event is scheduled for March 2027 and registration opens December 1, 2026. The organizers state the race runs in any weather and there is no rain date.
