About the race
The TrailFun Heritage Day Run is a public holiday trail event held at Simonsig Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The event emphasises continuity and connection, presenting marked, walk-friendly trails designed for runners, walkers, families, and communities.
Routes are fully marked and include walk-friendly sections, on-route support, and water points. The event offers a shared end-of-series atmosphere and includes a commemorative pair of THE Socks matched to the event medal. Entries include an oversized Holiday Series Butterfly medal, a bottle of spring water, a complimentary single wine tasting at the finish, and runner-only wine purchase specials. Farmina will provide runner goodie bags and pet nutrition guidance at the finish. Dogs on leads are welcome.
The format includes a race and a relaxed run option; the relaxed run permits flexible start times and allows walking or running. Podium prizes are awarded for adult categories in the timed race. The 15 km and 21 km distances are available in the relaxed run format. Route information and GPS resources are available through the event Strava club.
Distances
- 5 km : easy, relatively flat
- 10 km : more challenging, entry-level
- 15 km : available as relaxed run only
- 21 km : 21 km loop of the 10 km route, relaxed run option
