Town to Tower 10k - Ruthin to Moel Famau Uphill Race

The Town to Tower is an uphill only 10 km race from Ruthin that finishes at the Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau, with the finish line at over 550 m above sea level. The event is scheduled for 4 October 2026 and is organised by Out Fit.

The route starts in the heart of Ruthin and climbs through varied terrain. Runners follow lanes, trails, fields and stream crossings, with two distinct hilly sections and a steep gully in the final mile before the tower. The course provides a continuous ascent to the summit finish.

Event logistics include on-site registration and a race briefing before the start. There is a 5 km cut-off at Bwlch Penbarras. After finishing, participants walk 25 to 35 minutes to Bwlch Penbarras for collection of medals and onward transport. An option to purchase a bus ticket at the event is available to travel back to Ruthin and parked vehicles.

Entry options range from free entries for eligible Out Fit members to standard paid entry; listed prices show a standard entry fee of £21.50. The event has been run in previous years and is described in participant feedback as scenic with varied terrain and a demanding final section.
