Think Big Trail Challenge

The Think Big Trail Challenge is a trail running event on October 4, 2026, at the Williamsport Water Authority trails in South Williamsport, PA, near 1600 Mosquito Valley Rd. The event offers two distance options.

  • 10K: follows the 5K route and extends onto the Pocowanache Trail.
  • 5K: starts on a gravel road and finishes on the Bluebird Trail.

Course notes: the route includes gravel road sections, singletrack, rocky climbs, winding descents, and scenic historic views such as the Remington Ruins. The Pocowanache Trail section includes a notable ascent to a vista before a descent back toward the finish. The Bluebird Trail provides a forested finish with gentle inclines.

There is one aid station at the Green Bridge serving both distances.

Awards: first place male and female are recognized in categories 15 and under, 16 to 19, then in 10 year age groups up to 60 and over for both distances. Two special 15 and under 10K awards include a commemorative prize and a $100 cash award.

Registration details: early price is $30 through June 30, rising to $40 from July 1. Registration closes on September 20 at 11:59 PM ET. Race day registration is available. Race swag is guaranteed for the first 200 registrants; any remaining swag is distributed first come first served.

Proceeds benefit the Think Big Pediatric Cancer Fund in memory of a child. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
