Think Big Trail Challenge
The Think Big Trail Challenge is a trail running event set for October 4, 2026 in South Williamsport, PA on trails managed by the Williamsport Water Authority near 1600 Mosquito Valley Road. The event includes two measured courses through forested trail sections and historic sites.
- 10K
- 5K
Both courses use a mix of smooth singletrack, rugged climbs, rocky stretches, and flowing descents. The Bluebird Trail forms the final approach to the finish and passes historic Remington Ruins. The Pocowanache Trail is part of the 10K and includes a steeper ascent to a scenic vista before descending back toward Remington Road. The 5K follows a route that begins on gravel, climbs Shelterwood Trail, crosses the Green Bridge, and joins the Bluebird Trail to the finish. There is one aid station at the Green Bridge for both distances.
The event is the successor to a former Salvation Army race and directs proceeds to the Think Big Pediatric Cancer Fund; the race is held in memory of an individual. Awards are presented by sex and age group: first place male and female 14 and under, 15 to 19, then in 10-year age groups up to 60 plus for both distances. Limited parking is noted and carpooling is encouraged. Race swag is guaranteed for the first 200 registrants. Fees noted in event materials are $30 through June 30 and $40 from July 1; registration closes September 20 at 11:59 PM ET and race day registration is available.
