Rider Rattler 4 Miler & 8 Miler
The Rider Rattler is a trail running event in Montoursville, PA, held at Rider Park (1769 Caleb Creek Rd). The event offers two distances and revised courses for 2027 that increase elevation on both routes.
- 4 Miler: over 800 ft of elevation gain
- 8 Miler: tops out at 1,400 ft of elevation gain
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. New for 2027 are special awards for the top male and female in the 14 and under and 60 plus age categories for both distances. The event includes a post-race meal and Rider Rattler swag with each entry.
This is a rain or shine event, including snow; there are no refunds, deferrals, or bib transfers. The Rider Rattler is a qualifying race for the Rocksylvania Trail Series for 2027. Registration opens November 1, 2026.
Children 14 and under as of race day may register at half the regular fee using discount code Trailkids2027. If registering through an existing account, the child needs a separate account or must be entered as a guest because an account only allows registration of the person assigned to it when logged in.
New course maps will be posted once available. The park is owned and operated by First Community Foundation Partnership. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
