The Ultra Loop - Temple Newsam, Leeds
The Ultra Loop is an 8 hour running event at Temple Newsam Park where participants run as many 5 km laps as they can within the time limit. The course is a mixed-terrain loop combining park road, gravel and trail that passes through woodlands, gardens and The Avenue with views of Temple Newsam House. The loop has 97 m (318 ft) total elevation.
Runners may enter individually or as part of a team of up to four. Team entries run in relay style with only one team member on the course at a time; team results appear on a separate leaderboard. Results record laps completed, total distance and elapsed time. Any laps not finished before the 8 hour cut-off are not included in the final results.
Around the start and finish is the single aid station and spectator area. The aid station provides water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes. Participants are asked to bring their own bottle for refills as cups are not provided. There is a bag drop and portaloos at the aid station. The route is not closed to other park users, so walkers and dog walkers may be present.
Entry fees are listed at £30 to £36. Participants aged 12 to 15 require a parent or guardian to arrange their place and attend the event; under 12s are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
