The Summit 200

The Summit 200 is a non-repetitive 200 mile loop around Summit County, Colorado, scheduled for July 26, 2027. The route uses hiking trails, 4WD roads and recreational paths, with the majority on single track and infrequently traveled forest roads.

The course stays at high elevation, with the lowest points above 9,000 feet and sections surpassing 12,700 feet. Over the full route runners gain and lose about 40,000 feet of elevation. The event is run as a multi-day mountain race with a 109 hour cutoff (equivalent to 33:22 per mile) and requires a previous 100 mile finish for entry.

Event logistics include 12 full aid stations, 4 sleep stations, drop bags, and live GPS tracking; each participant is provided a Garmin Messenger. Most aid stations offer made to order hot food with vegan options. The field is capped at 75 runners for the current event, with a possible increase to 100 if capacity allows. Professional race photography and event merchandise are provided, and finishers receive specific finisher items.

The organizer’s deferral policy provides graded credit levels based on notice: 100% credit 90 days prior, 75% credit 60 days prior, 50% credit 30 days prior, and 25% credit 15 days prior. Deferral credit does not expire for three years, may be used for other Ultraverse Supplements races, cannot be gifted, and there are no refunds. A pregnancy deferral allows 100% credit up to 30 days prior. The race takes place on National Forest lands and Summit County lands. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
