The Rivington 10m Trail Challenge

The Rivington 10m Trail Challenge is a popular spring trail race in Lancashire held on Sunday 11 April 2027. The event is organised and timed by Trail Blazing Events and is based at the Village Green Tea Room in Rivington, Bolton (BL6 7SD). The advertised distance is 10 miles (approximately 16 km) and the race uses a cut-off time of 2 hours 30 minutes.

The course starts and finishes in the village and uses local trails on the edge of the West Pennine Moors. Runners pass through scenic woodland at White Coppice, tracks in Wheelton Plantation, open moorland and areas with views across the West Pennine Moors. The route includes runnable sections and sections with climbs and is routed away from busy roads for much of the course.

Event services include professional timing by the organiser, full marshals on course, a bespoke finisher medal for every finisher and prizes for the top three male and female finishers plus age category awards and team prizes. The published entry price is £19.50.

The village location provides nearby cafés and pubs for post-race activity and the course highlights combine historic landmarks, woodland and rolling countryside. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
