About the race

The Ribbon 200 is a multi-day trail running event on the Bruce Trail that uses the Blue Mountains, Dufferin Hi-Land and Caledon Hills sections. Distances offered include:

  • 200 Miles (out & back)
  • 100 Miles (point to point)
  • 72.5 km Blue Mountains E2E

The 200 Mile course runs from the Blue Mountains through the Dufferin Hi-Land and turns at Glen Haffy in the Caledon Hills, with approximately 9,500 m (24,000 ft) of elevation. The 100 Mile course begins at Glen Haffy, runs through the Dufferin Hi-Land and finishes in the Blue Mountains, with approximately 4,500 m (14,500 ft) of elevation. The Blue Mountains E2E covers the Bruce Trail section from the Dufferin Hi-Land boundary to Blue Mountains and has about 1,500 m (4,900 ft) of elevation.

The course is marked using the Bruce Trail white blazes only, with additional signage at certain locations. Aid support includes 11–13 fully stocked aid stations with hot food, 4–5 sleep stations, and 6–7 unmanned water stations depending on weather. Pacers are allowed for 200 and 100 mile runners but must start at specified aid stations and may not carry gear for their runner. Required basic gear notes include a headlamp, wind or rain jacket, 2–3 L of hydration, a warm hat, phone with the Bruce Trail app, backup battery, and a whistle.

Start and finish are at the top of Blue Mountain at the Summit parking lot. Bus transport to the start is provided for E2E and 100 mile runners. Finishers of the 200 and 100 miles receive a buckle; E2E finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
