The Ribbon 200 - 2027

The Ribbon 200 takes place June 11-15, 2027 at Blue Mountain Summit and follows sections of the Bruce Trail through the Blue Mountains, the Dufferin Hi-Land, and the Caledon Hills. The event offers multiple distances on singletrack, double track, gravel roads and hill terrain with technical sections and significant climbing.

Distances:

  • 200 Miles out and back, approx. 9,500 m elevation.
  • 100 Miles point to point, approx. 4,500 m elevation.
  • Blue Mountains E2E 72.5 km, approx. 1,500 m elevation.

The course is marked using the Bruce Trail white blazes only, with additional signage at certain locations for easier navigation. Aid support includes 11 to 13 fully stocked aid stations with hot food spaced about every 20 to 30 km, 4 to 5 sleep stations, and 6 to 7 unmanned water stations depending on weather. Time limits are published as total allowed times for each distance.

Pacers are allowed for the 200 mile and 100 mile distances, may only join at specified aid stations, and are not permitted to carry gear for their runner. Required basic gear includes a headlamp, wind or rain jacket, 2-3 L of hydration capacity, a toque for cool nights, a phone with the Bruce Trail app, a backup battery, and a whistle.

Start and finish are at the top of Blue Mountain at the Summit parking lot. Parking is available across the road and bus transportation is provided for the E2E and 100 mile starts. Typical local temperatures are about 22 C high and 12 C low with over 15 hours of daylight in mid June. Participants receive photos, timing, a bib, and event swag including finish buckles for 200 and 100 mile finishers and a medal for E2E finishers.
