Dion Mighty Chickadee Snowshoe Race

The event on January 16, 2026 takes place at Cold Creek Conservation Area, 14125 11th Concession, Nobleton, Ontario L0G 1N0. The course covers 6.5 km and uses the varied trail systems of the conservation area, combining wide and single-track trails through forest and meadows with a few long climbs.

Key logistical facts include on-site parking and a strict no-dog policy; dogs are not permitted on or off leash due to insurance requirements. Entry fees and registration windows are listed as follows: Early Chickadee $56.20 until December 20; Regular $61.59 from December 21 to January 8; Race Day $65 cash only if space allows. The race is capped at 60 participants. Registration is listed as coming soon.

Limited Dion snowshoes are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis for a fee of $10; rentals are to be reserved during registration. Participants who register by December 31 will receive a customized race souvenir while supplies last.

Post-run activities are held in the Education Centre and include chili, an awards presentation, and draw prizes from sponsors, with winners required to be present to collect certain prizes. If there is no snow and conditions are safe, the event may proceed as a trail run without snowshoes, in which case traction devices are recommended because trails may be icy. Race results are posted on the organizer's results page. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
