Race Overview
The Lookout is a road race held within Iroquois Park in Louisville. The event features courses that navigate the scenic landscapes of the park, including wooded roadways and rolling hills. Participants on the longer route visit various overlooks at the top of the park, providing views of the downtown area and the meadow.
The course includes a slow, steady climb to the top of the park followed by a downhill section. The start and finish lines are located near the Iroquois Amphitheater. There are two distance options available:
- 7 Miles: A loop reaching the park's summit and overlooks before returning to the base.
- 3.4 Miles: A shorter loop following the lower pedestrian path of the park.
Event Logistics
This event is a cupless race. To stay hydrated, participants must bring their own water bottle, hydration pack, or reusable cup. A water refill station is positioned midway through the 7 mile loop, and water and snacks are provided at the finish line.
All finishers receive a medal. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners of each race. Participant shirts are available as an optional pre-order add-on during registration to manage event costs, with a limited number available for purchase on the day of the event.
Packet pick-up takes place on-site near the pavilion before the race begins. Limited parking is available, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early and carpool to accommodate all participants and respect the park grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
