The Labor Day Slay
The Labor Day Slay is a set of timed running and ruck events held at Queeny Park in St Louis, Missouri. Events start and finish at Racers Village near the Smith Pavilion and take place on well marked, color coded trails through shaded, rolling terrain.
Distances:
- 5K, one lap on marked trails
- 10K, two laps with lap timing
- 10K Ruck, two laps carrying a ruck (minimum weight applies for awards)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles), four laps with lap timing
Course details note on-course aid and timing: participants cross timing mats to record lap times on multi-lap events, and an aid station is available on course at about 3.25 miles each lap. The 10K Ruck uses the same course as the 10K and specifies a 20 lb minimum for females and 30 lb minimum for males to be eligible for awards; a scale is available on site.
Event services and race amenities include a custom finisher medal and medal badges, a commemorative sew-on patch for ruck participants, a Rockinator Racing backpack, a soft spun event T-shirt, race snacks and drinks including ice popsicles, professional chip timing, fully marked course, participant tracking, on-site music at Racers Village, free action photos and finish line video, and a podium awards ceremony with top three awards by age group (1-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
One hundred percent of proceeds support the Rockwoods School District Cross Country program for equipment and general program needs. Packet pickup is available on race morning at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
