Doomsday 5K: January 1, 2027
Doomsday 5K is a trail race held on January 1, 2027 at Cliff Cave County Park, 806 Cliff Cave Road, Saint Louis, MO 63129. The event is organized by Terrain Trail Runners and uses the Spring Valley Trail Outer Loop for a large portion of the course.
The course is a 5K with approximately 272 feet of elevation gain. Runners begin on pavement for roughly 0.5 mile, continue on the Spring Valley Trail Outer Loop for about 1.8 miles, and return to pavement for the final 0.5 mile. Spring Valley Trail is an all dirt trail with rolling hills plus roots and rocks. The race notes the trail is beginner friendly.
Registration options include online registration and onsite race day registration. Race day registration is listed with a fee of $70 and is cash only; those registrants receive a custom pint or a shirt if sizes are available. Online registration includes a choice of a cotton t shirt, a pint glass, or an opt out option to plant a tree. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal.
The event is part of the Trail Mix Fund program, which can cover registration fees for runners who cannot afford them. The race follows a cup free policy; participants are asked to bring their own mug and mess kit for post race coffee and snacks. Awards include credits for top male, female, and non binary performers.
