The Hoot Half Marathon & 10K Trail Race
The event takes place on September 5, 2027, at the Rocks and Roots Trail in Alum Creek State Park, with the start area located just off Hollenback Road south of the dog park (3993 Hollenback Rd, Lewis Center, OH 43035). Two trail distances are offered:
- 13.1 Miles Half Marathon on trail
- 6.2 Miles 10K trail race
The course uses the park's North and South Loops: the North Loop is run first in a clockwise direction for the initial 10K, the South Loop follows counter-clockwise for the second 10K, and an additional roughly 0.7 mile loop completes the half marathon. The course layout is subject to change.
Registration opens January 8, 2026. Entry fees increase in steps from $55 (early) to $85 on race day. The event has a no refund and no bib transfer policy. Races typically sell out two to six weeks before race day.
Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Sports in Lewis Center on the Friday and Saturday before the race during normal business hours; race day packet pickup begins at the race site at 7:00 am. Volunteers may earn free entries or discounts at Fleet Feet Columbus.
The course closes for all participants at 12:00 pm, and half marathon participants must begin their second lap before 9:45 am. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
