Rocks and Roots Winter Series
The Rocks and Roots Winter Series is a two-date trail running series at Alum Creek State Park in Lewis Center, Ohio, taking place on January 24, 2027 and February 21, 2027. Events are held on the Rocks and Roots Trail near 3993 Hollenback Rd and use two 10K loops arranged in a figure 8: the north loop run clockwise and the south loop run counter-clockwise. Distances are formed by repeating loops as needed.
Distances offered:
- 10K
- 20K
- 30K
- 40K
- 50K
A series registration option includes a Trail Package limited to the first 300 registrants; the package includes a hooded sweatshirt, a pair of socks, and a water bottle. January registrants receive a gender-specific event shirt; February registrants receive an event buff. All participants receive finisher medals.
Course notes: the trail has rocks, roots, and possible stream or water crossings; surfaces may be covered by leaves, snow, or mud. Aid stations are located at the 10K loop start/finish and at points on the north and south loops; they provide water, Gatorade, and additional supplies. Drop bag tents are available at the 10K loop start/finish and can be accessed after each loop.
Logistics: packet pickup is at Fleet Feet Sports in Powell on dates before each race. Parking is available around the start/finish; non-50K runners are encouraged to use the Marina lot to leave closer spaces for 50K runners. The 50K course has a time limit and lap cutoff requirements.
