The New Gemini 100
The New Gemini 100 is an ultra event held on the Silver Comet Trail in Smyrna, Georgia. The course uses a paved five-mile trek that is run five miles out and five miles back along a straight section of trail. Orange markers line the route to help with navigation, and the trail is designated a no-litter zone. The trail will not be lit during evening hours, so participants are asked to bring a headlamp.
There are two aid stations on course: one at the start line and one at the halfway point. Both stations provide hydration and energy items. The race director can be notified in advance about specific dietary restrictions so those needs can be accommodated.
Awards and items for finishers include a customized brass buckle for the 100 mile finish and awards for finishers of fifty miles and under. Every runner will receive race swag. Proceeds from the event will be donated to homeless communities in the city, and organizers will also accept in-kind donations such as socks, underwear, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other essentials.
Logistics notes: campers, vans, and RVs are allowed but no electrical outlets are provided. Volunteers who complete a full eight-hour shift receive race swag for the current year and free entry to the following year's race. There are no refunds, though transfers to another distance are permitted.
