Fyfield Footpath 5K & 10K

The Fyfield Footpath 5K & 10K is an off-road running event set in the Essex countryside that supports the 1st Moreton and Fyfield Scout Group. The event is planned for 12th September 2027 and finishes at Fyfield Village Hall, Rear of Houchin Drive, Fyfield, CM5 0RF.

The courses run on footpaths and are fully marshalled and marked with no road crossings before returning to the village hall. Entries include a race number and a choice of a souvenir wicking T-shirt or the option to sponsor a tree planting; team entries and canine entries are welcome. The event offers a timed result for each distance and a winners podium at the finish.

Additional event provisions include free parking and a bag drop, though parking at the Village Hall is limited and participant parking is a short 10 minute walk away. Cycle parking is widely available and accessible parking can be arranged by prior request. Food and drink will be sold throughout the event. Participants may also use their run to raise funds for a charity of their choice.

The event runs a Trees not Tees scheme. In the past three years the Scout Group has planted more than 1,000 trees locally, with almost 200 of those funded through this scheme as part of the 5 km and 10 km entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
