The Essex Way Ultra
The Essex Way Ultra is an ultra-marathon that follows the full Essex Way trail from Epping tube station in the city of London to the high lighthouse in the port of Harwich. The route covers 82 Miles of mixed trail, footpath, track and road with a total elevation gain of 3,469 ft.
The event includes five checkpoints, one drop bag, GPS tracking & timing, and a race medical team. There is a 24 hour cut off. A race permit for 2026 is listed as 8099. Entry fees are shown as £107 for affiliated runners and £109 for unaffiliated runners, plus a 4% booking fee, and entries open 1st September 2026. The organiser donates £1 from each entry to a named trust, with the total donated so far listed as £163.
