The Fox
The Fox takes place in the Surrey Hills near Godalming, with base camp at The Burys, Godalming GU7 1HR. Routes run through ancient woodland, sandstone heath and a network of bridleways, with twisting singletrack, sandy climbs and the scent of pine and bracken.
Distances:
- 62K: 62 km, 756m, 11hr cut-off, min age 20, UTMB 50K, full Fox Way.
- 41K: 41 km, 300m, 8hr cut-off, min age 18, UTMB 20K, two thirds Fox Way.
- 20K: 20 km, 191m, 4hr cut-off, min age 17, UTMB 20K, farm fields and bluebell woods.
Aid stations supply water, electrolytes, sports drink, coke, fruit, sweets, salty snacks, energy bars and energy gels at select stations. The event is cupless so participants must bring their own cup or soft flask. Facilities at the race village include bag drop, portaloos, food and hot drinks, finish aid stations and a kit stall. Free toilets are provided close to the race village.
All events are chip timed and results are posted online shortly after. Walking poles are permitted. Headphone use is discouraged; open ear or bone conducting headphones are allowed so announcements can be heard. A mandatory pre race briefing takes place 15 minutes before each start at Base Camp. Race bibs are collected at the event village on race morning and registration opens 1hr 30mins before each race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
