The Fellsman and The Fellsman Dart
The Fellsman and The Fellsman Dart are point-to-point ultra events across remote Yorkshire Dales fells and moorland, scheduled for 24th and 25th April 2027. The main event runs from Ingleton to Threshfield and the Dart from Redshaw to Threshfield. The 2027 running is listed as the 63rd Fellsman and the 3rd Fellsman Dart.
Both routes include extensive ascent and multiple staffed checkpoints. Distances and checkpoint details include:
- 61 miles, serviced by 25 hilltop and roadside checkpoints
- 30 miles, serviced by 13 hilltop and roadside checkpoints
Entrants must navigate across rugged terrain; navigational ability is required alongside physical and mental fitness, and the organisers state these events are intended for fit and experienced runners or walkers. While GPX files for GPS devices are acceptable, entrants must carry a map and compass and know how to use them for emergencies.
The events are organised by Keighley Scout Service Network and are staffed entirely by volunteers, many from Scouting. Organiser provisions include fully serviced roadside checkpoints with hot and cold food and beverages, transport and accommodation options, and consideration for special dietary requirements.
