The Cragg Challenge 2027

The Cragg Challenge takes place on Sunday 27 June 2027 with all events held on Cragg Road (B6138) in Mytholmroyd, HX7 5AF. The start and finish line is adjacent to the Royd Ices building, and on-the-day registrations are at Royd Ices next to the start/finish. The road will be closed for the event and all official events will be timed. There are restricted entry numbers for each event and no refunds are offered.

Main events planned for the day include:

  • 10 mile run up and down Cragg Road on a measured 10 mile course
  • 10K run with an ascent to a turning point then return
  • 5K run with an ascent to a mid-hill turning point then return
  • John Jones Memorial Mile a measured 1 mile course up and down Cragg Road
  • Cycle Ascent timed ascent with an electronic summit clock synchronized to the start
  • Cragg 60K Sportive fully marked cycle sportive featuring climbs and descents
  • Cycle Time Trial individually timed cycling event on the ascent course
  • Oliver Collinge Climb a school relay with entries managed through participating schools

Events nearby

A multi-terrain 5.5 miles (8.8 km) race around historic Hopwood Hall near Middleton, with number and chip collection, prizes and a 200 runner entry limit.
Evening pop up trail races at Rodley along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal offering 5k and 10k options, licensed under UKA rules with on the day entry and food.
A 5-mile out-and-back fell race over Eshton Moor along the Pennine Way route, with junior and senior categories, modest entry fees and perpetual trophies for club members.
A flagged and marshalled BS fell race from Uppermill with a 10 km course and 400 m of climb, entry via SiEntries and a post race chip butty included in the fee.
