The Cove - Chickamauga, GA
The Cove is a trail race meeting on March 13, 2027 at Mountain Cove Farms, 994 Dougherty Gap Rd, Chickamauga, GA, set in McLemore Cove between Lookout Mountain and Pigeon Mountain. The event offers trail routes through farmland, hollows, and ridge terrain that mark a transition between the Cumberland Plateau and the Ridge and Valley province.
Courses climb up Pigeon Mountain and pass local landmarks and features such as Rocktown, Whiskey Hollow, Pocket Falls, and the High Point Overlook. The 30K and 50K routes go by Rocktown. The 50K route includes the Estelle Mines Trail and may pass old railroad tunnels. The organizer notes precautions to keep runners clear of Ellison's Cave.
A day-use Combo Hunting/Fishing short term license is required for Crockford-Pigeon Mountain WMA on race day and costs $5. Registration opens September 30, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET. To be guaranteed a race shirt entrants should register by late February 2027. The 50K has a 10 hour time limit.
