About the race
The Country Mile 48 Hour is an endurance run and walk held at Beechwood Family Farm in Marietta, South Carolina. The event runs across a looped 4.167-mile course with about 25 feet of elevation gain per loop. The surface is primarily wide dirt paths with some grass and light gravel; the course has directional arrows and automatic chip timing that records each lap when participants cross the timing mat.
Participants may cover a wide range of distances; suggested lap goals are provided and awards include buckles and finisher medals for select distances. Cumulative mileage awards and specialty pins or buckles are part of the award structure. Overnight aid station support is reduced while volunteers rest, but timing continues without interruption.
Camping is included from April 1 through April 4. Tent camping spaces (15x15) are car free and available near the entrance; car camping is permitted along the course. RV spots are limited to the first 40 reservations and carry a fee. Dry camping means no hookups; water is available at the U Pick stand. Portable fire pits and daytime generator use are allowed.
Aid station provisions include salty and sweet snacks plus water, soda, ginger ale, and coffee. This is a cup less event so participants should bring their own hydration container. A participant volunteer program offers a large registration discount when a volunteer covers a confirmed three hour shift. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
