The Cold Norton Charity Summer 10K & Half Marathon Trail Event 2026
This is a charity trail running event held on 9 August 2026 at Bencott, Newport Avenue, Cold Norton, Essex CM3 6NR. The event raises funds for Farleigh Hospice and all proceeds are donated to the charity. What3words location: tickles.options.rural.
Two route options are offered:
- 10 km mainly on grass, tracks and paths
- 13.1 miles (half marathon) mainly on grass, tracks and paths
Routes are unmarked narrative routes. Runners receive written instructions to follow; a few bits of tape will mark trickier places. The event uses a staggered start and runners register at the desk before setting off. There is no bag drop; parking is close to the start and finish.
Participants are timed on entry and exit but the event is not chip timed. Aid stations are provided but this is a cupless event so runners must carry their own cup or drink bottle. There will be no cups at checkpoints. Dogs are not permitted. The event will follow the government COVID 19 restrictions in place at the time.
Facilities include ample parking, toilets and handwashing. Refreshments at the finish include hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes; donations are welcomed. Entry fees are £14 for the 10k and £20 for the half marathon; a finishers medal is optional for £3.20. Booking fees apply. Entries close on 31 July 2026.
