The Bogburn Ultra
The Bogburn Ultra is a time based trail event held in South Royalton, VT on October 16, 2027. The event offers two time formats that run on a repeated loop course.
The course is a 3.8 mile loop with approximately 570 ft of elevation gain per lap. The trail follows doubletrack through streams, a swamp, and wooded banks, and passes scenic foliage vistas. Runners complete as many laps as they can in the selected time window.
Key competition rules state that the runner with the most laps wins. Runners must begin their final lap before the 6 hour or 12 hour cutoff to have that lap counted. Any lap started before the cutoff counts toward total distance. If multiple runners are on the same final lap, the first to complete that lap is declared the winner.
Prizes are awarded to the top non binary, female, and male individual finishers and include homemade pies and trophies. The event continues the site’s history of local ski and trail races and recognizes local land stewardship and trailbuilding.
Logistics note that parking is available in the field across from the course and volunteers will direct vehicles on Skyline Drive. Tents and tables are allowed at the start and finish areas. Water, light snacks, and grilled cheese sandwiches will be provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
