About the race
The Taupo Town Rogaine Series is a sequence of five town-based rogaine events organised by the Taupo Orienteering Club in 2026. Each event uses the town map and places 27 controls around the course area; controls are worth between 10 and 30 points each for a total available score of 540 points. Clip cards are used for all courses and maps are printed on paper only. There are two course formats offered: - F60: Foot Rogaine 60 minutes - M45: MTB Rogaine 45 minutes Entry options include individual and team entries.
Individual fees include one map copy and team entries include two map copies. Fees listed for 2026 are individuals $7 for club members and $12 for non-members; teams of two to five are $12 for members and $17 for non-members. On-the-day entries incur an additional $5. Timing rules include a late-arrival penalty of 10 points per minute or part thereof after the allotted time for each course.
Competitors must respect marked out-of-bounds areas shown with vertical red or black lines or olive green shading for private property. Safety procedures require competitors to read course notices at the event centre, check in at the finish, and take care on open roads.
