Taupō Ultramarathon : Great Lake Trail, Saturday 17 October 2026
The Taupō Ultramarathon is a multi-distance trail running event that follows the Great Lake Trail around Lake Taupō. The route passes lakeside views, mountains, rivers, waterfalls and areas of native New Zealand bush, and includes sections across private land.

- 100 km run
- 100 km team relay
- 70 km run
- 50 km run/walk
- 24 km run/walk
The event base is in Taupō. The organiser acknowledges landowners, trail builders and community organisations that support the event. The event materials note a community atmosphere at the event base and on-course support for participants.
The event is presented with event qualifier references, including UTMB Index and Western States qualifying material. The 2026 edition is noted as the final year for the glass medal that has been part of the event presentation.
