TARC Winter Classic
The Trail Animals Running Club Winter Classic is a trail event held at Middlesex Fells Reservation in Stoneham, Massachusetts on December 5, 2026. The race uses loops of the white blazed Skyline Trail and features sustained climbs, descents, roots and rocks typical of New England trail terrain. Scenic views of the Boston skyline may be visible from parts of the course.

- 32 mile distance made of repeated 8 mile loops
- 40 mile distance made of repeated 8 mile loops
Course marking relies on the trail’s white blazes with minimal additional markings. Participants are expected to review course maps and may download the GPX file for use on GPS devices. If a participant goes off course they must backtrack to the marked route; GPS review may be used to confirm course following and failure to follow the marked course may affect official finish status.
Aid stations are at the start/finish and roughly halfway around the loop; the event is cupless so participants must bring their own hydration system. Portable restrooms and menstrual products are provided at aid stations. Cutoffs are in place for final loops and participants who start their last loop close to the cutoff must carry a headlamp. No race day distance changes are permitted. The event sells out and the organizer enforces no refunds, no transfers, and no deferrals.
Parking is at Hall Memorial Pool & Splash Pad, 4 N Border Road, about a 0.5 mile walk to the start/finish. Volunteers direct overflow parking on Fallon Road. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
