About the race
The TARC Fall Classic is a trail running event held at Great Brook Farm State Park in Carlisle, Massachusetts. The event offers multiple marked looped courses that run through woods and open fields and feature typical trail obstacles such as roots and rocks. Several distances are offered, including a free, flagged youth fun run around the field. Aid support differs by course: the 10 mile loop used by the 20M, 50K, and 50M includes two aid stations roughly every three to four miles, while the 10K loop used by the half marathon and 10K has aid only at the start and finish area.
The race is cupless; participants must bring their own hydration system. Aid station offerings are vegan friendly and include electrolyte mix, water, fruit, assorted snacks, and both sweet and savory items. The event enforces course markings and navigation rules; participants who go off course are expected to backtrack. Cutoff times and additional controls are enforced for safety and logistics.
Pacers are not allowed and crew access is limited to the start/finish area. Parking is limited and a park fee applies. The event follows a Leave No Trace policy, encourages food and drink donations for aid stations and local food pantries, and accommodates adaptive athletes with appropriate equipment and guides.
