About the race

The Sydney Trail Series - St Ives takes place around the St Ives Wildflower Gardens and nearby Ku-ring-gai National Park, using a mix of bush trails and single-track along Cowan Creek. The long courses include steep and technical sections and varied natural terrain.

Events are held on multiple dates in spring 2026 with the following distances:

  • 7 km
  • 10 km
  • 24 km
  • 30 km (offered on at least one date)

The race hub is at St Ives Showground, which offers ample parking. Public transport access is available via nearby bus stops on Mona Vale Road; first services usually arrive in the area early morning. Course maps and more route detail are provided by the organiser.

Aid stations are placed on the courses; locations by distance include 4 km for shorter events, and multiple stations on longer courses (for 24 km and 30 km events there are stations at roughly 4 km, 6 km, 12 km, 19 km, 21 km, and 25 km as applicable). Cut-off rules apply at Aid Station 2 (Warrimoo Trail/Timbarra Rd): a 3.5-hour cut-off for the 24 km course and a 4.5-hour cut-off for the 30 km course.

A recovery area at the finish provides fruit, Tailwind Nutrition and water, plus a post-race breakfast including bacon and egg sandwiches. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers in each event; series prizes are based on aggregated times across designated series entries.
