Sweater Weather 10K & 5K - Event summary
The Sweater Weather 10K & 5K takes place on October 3, 2026 at the Canmore Nordic Centre Stadium (1988 Olympic Way, Canmore, Alberta). The event offers two trail distances that follow double-track dirt trails through pine forest with noticeable elevation changes.

Entries include a race-day goodie and finish-line pie and warm drinks provided by a local bakery. Finish medals are optional and available by opt-in at registration. Aid stations stocked with water and Precision Fuel & Hydration are located at 3.5 km for the 5K and at 3.5 km and 7.5 km for the 10K. Medical staff and volunteers are present on course.
Registration opens April 1, 2026, with early bird pricing through May 1, 2026; registration closes at midnight on September 26, 2026 or sooner if the event sells out. Race entries are non-refundable; transfers to another runner or deferrals to the following year are permitted if arranged before September 15, 2026. Packet pickup is available Friday evening at Strides Canmore (1240 Railway Ave #108) and the morning of the event at the Canmore Nordic Centre Stadium.
Course rules and logistics: bear spray is required for runners 18 years and older; strollers are not allowed on course; dogs may attend as leashed spectators; headphones are not permitted. Parking is available at the Nordic Centre and a Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required. Two dollars from each entry will be donated to the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley.
