Stour Valley Path 100 (SVP100)
The Stour Valley Path 100 (SVP100) is a point to point ultramarathon that follows almost the entire Stour Valley Path in England. The main event covers about 102 km (63.4 miles) and there is a shorter 50 km option. The course runs from the Newmarket area to Brantham and passes through countryside known as Constable Country. The route is mainly trail terrain with an approximate surface breakdown of 95% trail and 5% paved paths.
Route statistics include a total ascent of +912 m and descent of -957 m for the 100 km, and +730 m ascent and -760 m descent for the 50 km. There are six aid stations along the route. The organiser applies time limits of 15.5 hours for the 100 km and 9.5 hours for the 50 km. Finishers receive a medal, a t-shirt, and UTMB Index points in the corresponding 100k or 50k categories. Prizes are awarded to the male and female winners and a team prize is calculated from the cumulative time of the fastest three runners from the same club.
Practical information published by the organiser includes start and finish locations in Newmarket, Sudbury and Brantham, guidance on mandatory kit for safety, and entry fees set by affiliation status. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
