Stour Valley Marathon & Half

The event on 20 June 2027 is a trail marathon and half marathon based at Nayland Village Hall, Church Lane, Nayland, Colchester CO6 4JH. The marathon route uses a combination of the St Edmunds Way, Stour Valley Path and the Essex Way and covers 27 miles of tracks, trails, roads and byways. The half marathon follows the first loop of the marathon route.

The event follows a predominantly self navigation format. Navigation will be provided as a GPX file or written instructions available for download nearer to the event. There are fully stocked aid stations and checkpoints at approximately 6, 11, 15 and 20.5 miles. The event is cupless; participants must bring their own cup. Collapsible speedcups are available to purchase for £2.50 each.

A new entry fee structure means the basic entry does not include a medal; medals must be selected and paid for at registration and cannot be issued on race day. Cut off times are 8 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon. Parking and toilets are available at Nayland Village Hall and provided free of charge for the day. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is run under UK Athletics rules.
